OK. Here is another shot at an updated count as I see it right now. I have too many resistance levels converging at more or less the same points. Also, the 60 min and 30 min osc. are heavy overbought. It's not to say that the market can't shrug that off and go higher right from here, but, it just doesn't have the look (to my eyes) of a strong impulse wave up (yet). That may change for sure.

I think that you may be correct and that a selloff to the low 56's will come first. At that point I will have to take another look and maybe join you on the upside if those levels hold again and the osc. reset. Btw, this is a 30 min. chart. :-)Attached Images

Here's a chart, TW. The thing that really supports this is the guidline of alternation within EWP. Whether the rallies to a new high impulsively from here, or consolidates in a triangle for days/weeks, the pair should not break 1.5335 and will make a new all time high above 1.5900, and probably well into the 1.6000s.Attached Thumbnails

Outside of the alternate bullish triangle count, the primary bullish count calls for bullish movement immediately. Here it is.

CURRENCY LAB - NOV 27 - INTO THE GLOOMY DEPTHS
by Mike Ellis
11/27/2006, Forexnews.com

JAPANESE YEN/US DOLLAR

Serious unraveling of the Dollar has brought a daily head and shoulders pattern to fruition versus the Yen. Thus, while not ruling out the chance for modest near term corrective bounces into the lower 117's, the mid term prognosis is for a decline to the 'head' projection of 113.4 before somewhat better support could start to feature to promote a new period of 112's to 115's ranging prior to yet another step down to 109's. To completely shake off the malaise, the US would need to pierce 118.6, a very tall order from where it sits right now.

BRITISH POUND/US DOLLAR

It took repeated efforts across a six-month time span but the Pound has punched cleanly through into the heart of the 1.90's, molding all the action since May into a large base structure ostensibly located under 1.91. Different depths to the segments of the base make for several projections that lie between 1.976 and 1.999, intriguing that the larger one should fall just a whisker shy of the magical 2:1 threshold. Corrective dips still cannot be ruled out on the run in to the year-end but good support should be evident in the 1.91's and only breaking below there would seriously question the upper 1.90's targets.

CURRENCY LAB - NOV 07 - DOLLAR UNDER FIRE
by Mike Ellis
11/7/2006, Forexnews.com

EURO/US DOLLAR

Pulling itself together while still safely above the 1.246 support, the Euro has made a strong comeback against the Dollar to sever the two and a half month downtrend, inserting a small base under 1.265 in the process to catch any untoward dips. This has erased the previously toppy image of the chart and gives the entirety of the past six months the look of being just a protracted consolidation phase after breaking out from beneath 1.23. In turn, the outlook ultimately favors overhauling the 1.29抯 peaks and pushing on ahead to a projection of 1.342 and perhaps challenging the late ?4 peak of 1.367. Only a reversal through 1.265 would question the upside prognosis.

US DOLLAR INDEX

Similarly, with the Dollar Index again fading in the face of the 87.35/87.80 resistance guarding a pre-May head and shoulders top, things have steadily decayed since and two key shallow uptrends, a daily version at 85.10 and a weekly version just a whisker behind at 84.90, now bear the full responsibility of propping up the US currency, if indeed it can be propped up. If not, the demise of both trends to press into the mid 84抯 would echo in a very bearish way and not only would the May low of 83.60 then face attack but a further drop to the 80.40 trough of late 2004 would also threaten over the medium term. At the very least, the 86.00/86.20 resistance would have to be defeated to allay such fears.

CURRENCY LAB - OCT 20 - CORRECTIVE CROSSROADS
by Mike Ellis
10/20/2006, Forexnews.com

EURO/US DOLLAR

A breakdown from the 1.26's has increased the toppy structure of the Euro chart pattern overall but has thus far still been arrested above the 1.246 summer trough. Nevertheless, the subsequent bounce now faces a raft of resistance from the lower 1.26's up through to a two-month downtrend placed at 1.273 currently. In that approximate 1-Cent span is where the bounce should fail and reverse to the downside if indeed it is just a correction as is presently implied. So another leg south to the 1.23 region would continue to be sought and a broader review in the Euro's favor would only be called for in the event of overhauling 1.273.

US DOLLAR INDEX

Meantime, the breakaway to the upside by the Dollar Index itself was also curbed by the mid summer peak of 87.35, which correlates with 1.246 vs. EU. The setback from here is now arriving at the first critical line of defence, namely 86.20, the mid Bollinger average also happening to be located here as well. If the bull sentiment for the Dollar is really bubbling, this mid band average area should be enough of a corrective retreat and so the low 86's should hold and resume the Dollar's advance. Only if the Index broke cleanly through into the 85's would the mood be revealed as much less certain, whereupon a deeper dip all the way to the shallow uptrend in the upper 84's would threaten.

Wave c of a triangle OR going straight down if 1.533 is taken out. Going long somewhere in the 54's/ SL 1.53. Trying to get as close to there to limit risk. Run back up to 1.59 area without busting through to frustrate longs once more in wave d. Then a wave e and BAM!

New highs if this all plays out in the triangle. It might be over here, I don't know but I don't want to be long here. Too much risk down to 1.53.

Alt. count is we topped and we are in a 3rd down. That's my .02. :-)

And I'll leave with this EUR/USD chart I posted in the Elliott Wave section a few hours ago. This should help you with where the dollar might be headed.

The dollar decline appears to be just beginning. So the EUR/USD should go into the low 1.60s and the USD/CHF and USD/JPY should be on their way to new lows.

Despite the dollar weaknes, gold and silver are flat (bigger picture) as gold is almost $100 off from its high.

EURUSD advanced 200+ pips today.. This does not happend every day.

But we'll see what happend next. Maybe up or down..

Fiber on my charts:

Sell on pruple line?

Edit: 1,60 would be great to the end of the week, but upper line needs to be overtaken.

This is what the count looks like to me at the moment. I see one more new high around the 1.5750 area which would be a .618 ret. of the last drop off of 1.59-1.55. There is also eqaulity here where wave 5=1. Then back down to the lower end of the range below 1.55 without taking out 1.53 to complete an abc and the next leg (wave C) of the developing triangle that many analysts have been speaking of. Next would be another wave D leg back up to the upper end of the range near 1.58-9.

It is possible that this leg is wave D and that wave C finished at the 1.55 low. The only objection I have to this count is the "look" of the triangle with 1.55 being the wave C low. Otherwise, it is certainly possible. If we go higher than 1.59 from here, there is no triangle and we obviously completed the 4th wave correction and are going higher from here as per AT's original count.
