Cable on 4 hour chart could potentially develop an

ABC where B is potentially a triangle.

Watch for the breakout and take your cue from there.

wmploying other system along side EWA...

it would seem Cable will be ranging in that box.
on the lower time frame, it went down a little then up.

overall, it would need to go toward the mid of that range box and come down again before going up towards that top of the range.

still possible to gather 15-100 pips a trade in this range unless you are so good that you can get more than 100 pips per trade here.

GBPJPY - Race to 219 or to 251
I am interested to gather GBPJPY traders opinion on where they think Price for this currency will go in the short to medium term.

I see traders having views that This will fall hard towards 219 and even below while others see this as going up towards 251.

It would be interesting to see your opinion all gathered in 1 place away from the daily analysis of most GBPJPY threads. Hopefully , analysis would be backed with either charts or details why you favor a particular direction.

I am wondering what most of the Technical Indicator based Systems are showing us and hopefully we get some contribution of thoughts from our Fundamental Analysts.

IMHO, I am BULLISH Bias more because of what I get from My Elliott Wave Counts for this Pair. Most of the Limits favoring a Bearish trend have been Breached, therefore I currently favor a Bullish trend towards 251.

Hey Karmo....

Yes I observed that you have consistently maintained that stance that we will reach 251 by the end of the year.

Would you like to expound on that or was that based on gut feel?

Was it a race as to which price level would be reached first or was it more of knowing price will reach 251 before the end of the year whether it goes directly to 251 or even if it goes to 219 first..... but it would definitely reach 251 by the end of the year?

I have observed that there are very few people or very rarely do we see traders for GBPJPY here willing to provide a longer term view as to their price direction perception.

And you Karmo are the only trader I have seen who has consistently maintained your stand on this. and have openly stood by what you believed in. I salute you for that.

251 or 219? Well, to answer that question you must have a pretty good feeling about the direction of the equity markets in general and the Dow in particular. If you see GJ at 251 by year's end, then you have to see the Dow at +15,000, probably in the 15300-15400 range. Will the Dow ever reach that height? Yes it will...but by year's end? Man, that is hard to envision in this environment. I think we will see Dow at these levels by late Q2 or early Q3 next year...obviously the US has some major issues to settle (housing, commodity prices, etc.). A casual look at the Dow chart and you can see that it is due for a correction....something in the 8% to 10% range...before we can push on to new highs. So, if we are talking 2month horizions, I believe we will be closer to the 219 by year's end. I started shorting GJ at 239.50 and will add to it in 100 pip increments (upward). While I am not sure about 219, 230-231 looks highley probable.

Very few would dare to provide their views on this.

I am looking for traders working on Gann Theories and I am wondering what they have in Mind.

I do not know much or or almost anything about economies , stocks, bonds futures commodities, currencies and what have you and how all of these are inter related.

I have concentrated on just working on Elliott Waves and studying the Principles and Theories.

Being an ignorant trader not versed on economics, I am presenting the following charts below which I have come up with based on the available reference points on my charts.

Projections are made for the Potential outcome based on the availability of 3 points Wave 0, wave1 and wave 2.

So far, I have come up with an approximate target for my 15min chart up to the Daily Chart.

And I know this is going to throw off a lot of people.

However, I still present these charts here for people to agree with, be enlightened or to dispute them.

These are approximate values and will need to be adjusted depending on the final outcome for each wave 5 end.

It should always be remebered that after every wave 3 comes a retracement of 38.2% to 50% of the Wave 3 for the wave 4 before proceeding with the upward move.

i have posted a weekly chart that shows my opinion about this.
here is my interpretation based on this weekly chart:
- wave 3: 241.46
- wave 4: 221.07 (observe that elliott wave indicator is NOT crossing below 0 line)
- wave 5: 251.09, blue dot
- wave A: 219.28, blue dot; and here i need to say a few things. this presumed wave A has reached lower than wave 4, which is another reason for me to believe that we might see a lower low once wave C starts; if wave A would have been higher than wave 4, we would have had a HUGE hidden bullish divergence between 4 and A that would have supported the continuation of the trend. but it is not the case.
- wave B: currently going up... and should be completed around 244.24 or 247.44.
- wave C: a fall below last minimum (219.28) - a projected target of wave C might be around 211-212, depending where wave B ends.
that's pretty much it.

p.s. i have attached another pic, the first one was without any explanation on it.

Heres , What the Euro is tracing out theses days ....

This chart is the most valuable of all going forward

Why ? ..............

Because it's showing Topping action and exaution in price around 3400.......( Bearish view of things )

----------------------------------------------------------------------
You don't need a fancy chart package or some News report to tell you this
- It's all right there in the charts .... It's always in the charts !

------------------------------------------------------------------
See Here - there is topping action

Stay tuned !

i have never heard of anyone that says that elliot wave doesnt matter. while you are right that the need of knowledge of the style of market is valuable, but the wave could signify the emergance of a bullish or bearish. the wave count works on a daily and weekly scale. so by watching that we could learn when to expect moves.

Trading is about your Averages !

Why is this so difficult to accept ?.....

trading is also mpore importanatly
about your ability to Manage Risk and Protect your Assets

whenever you decide to take the call ......
this is first ! ......
-----------------------------------------------------------------

Again , the wave count doesn't matter .............

and besides there are too many wavecounts -
ewe all dont se the world the same way

-------------------------------------------------------------------
If you really understand this -
you would not be concerned with who has the right wave count !

You would be concerned with leverage and
not over-extending yourself on any trade set up
because , [COLOR=Navy] in the end it comes back to your averages over time .

this is the same rule for all trading methods ...............

here is another potential problem for the bulls

Multiple resistance at a 618 % Retracement Line

------------------------------------------------------------

when Nelson elliot was alive , he spoke very highly
of the work of Fibonacci the 16th century mathemetion!

-------------------------------------------------------
Nelson did not speak of oscillators
like Macd , Stochastics Movbing Averages , Bollinger Bands

you know the bunch !........

-------------------------------------------------------------
So you dont need them to trade - Elliott Waves Method

leave those oscillators to the backtesters
and the system traders of the world !

Cool stuff
I admire the way you analyse the movement of EW. It looks simple but yet very infomative and easy to understand. Combination with Fibo is just crystal clear. Definitely its gonna be input for my next trade.

Some recent EUR/USD history
<table border="0" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" width="575"><tbody><tr><td valign="top">EURUSD: More Volatility

</td> <td height="12"> </td> </tr> </tbody></table> <table border="0" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" width="575"><tbody><tr><td width="6">
</td> <td class="EC_article" valign="top">If you've been asking for volatility, you've got it. Last week's boring sideways trading in the EURUSD ended with a bang on Friday (Dec. 8). That morning's improbable swings – 100 pips up, 150 pips down, and all in the span of 3 hours – is exactly why some more experienced forex traders say they don’t trade in December. It's just too easy to get shaken out of your position, whichever direction you may be betting.

It was the ambiguous U.S. jobs report released at 8:30 a.m. last Friday, said the analysts, which sent the EURUSD flying. As for the 150-pip move in the opposite direction two hours later – well, that, apparently, was due to a passing comment by the U.S. Treasury Secretary that a "'strong dollar' was in the U.S. interest," whatever that means.

While those two events last Friday were certainly coincidental with the EURUSD's swings, whether or not you believe they actually drove the market action depends on what school of thought you belong to. From an Elliott wave perspective, the USD was due for a reversal last Friday. EWI's Currency Specialty Service was pointing out a strong chance of that the night before:

Update For: Friday
Posted On: Thu, 7 Dec 2006 19:35:00 GMT
EURUSD [Last Price]: 1.3283
[Topping, correction due]Key Levels: 1.3256. A rally to a new high is possible, but that potential should not overshadow the increasing downside risk.

We expected a top last Friday because, as you know, an Elliott wave impulse has 5 waves. But on Thursday the move was only showing 3 waves, so what was due next was a corrective wave 4 down – and we certainly got it. That's quite a different view of volatility, isn't it? Turns out, you can actually expect it, if you have the right tools.

With the Federal Reserve's interest rate announcement due later today (Dec. 12), the market is bound to experience more near-term volatility. And it's likely to persist as the year-end approaches, so this is a time for cautious trading.

Hi there guys,

Totally agree w/ the Euro analysis. I'm expecting wave 4 to end around 2978ish (what I think wave 4 is anyway). Then I'm expecting a pretty good move up move.

I also think this upcoming wave 5 will determine the direction for the next 12 to 18 months...but that's not part of this thread.

Happy holidays!

I have to agree that Moneytec is disturbed and a sinking ship, especially after closing surfer's thread and accusing me of being him. Well, that is history now and quite a few traders have abandoned it. Surfer has moved to his own site/chat and continues to post there so all is not lost.

Anyway, marketwavez also provides valuable charts and advice so it's good to see him on sites that appeciate his efforts rather than trying to sabotage his thread.

Regards

Pip

Hi

Since I very much believe we're doing an ABC off the highs on EURUSD as well as GBPUSD I'm just curious as to what wave / pattern we're in total/big picture.

Did we just really end a real big wave 5 and are due to move below 2.0 again or what's the pattern?

How far does a ABC correction usually retrace of the the full upmove or where are likely correction ends located? There were fib relations to some waves or the full 5 wave count, but I have really close to zero idea about the details of EW.

I mainly look for and trade ABCs when I use EW at all
The end of the B inside of the A and the big B end are usually really great places to get in.

I think we may be currently in a C down of a larger first A down of an ABC correction off the GBPUSD high?

Really appreciate your helpfulness towards others =)

I completely agree on your simplified counting btw. All the complexity needs to be eliminated. Waves can only be traded and seen as simple.
Makes your charts very sympathetic

Here's my 4h count for the last move and possible ABC estimates. Would really like to hear your comments on this and where an ABC is normally supposed to / likely to end.

Thank Marketwavz
Thanks MarketwaveZ,

I am a complete noob with Elliot wave, thus my questions won't be very intelligent. We started a month ago with a group together. I will get the group to subscribe to this thread.

Thank again

Update...hit potential C target, perhaps big A end?
Now due for some sort of correction, perhaps big B up?

Updated chart, didn't move the fibs or letters before or after the fact

Ok , ............
Here is a close up of the Gbp/Usd

Yesterday ,
we had a strong rally out of the Tweezer Bottoms
candlestick formation shown below , now there is consolidation !
maybe even a flagpole , or maybe even a coil ...........
-------------------------------------------------------------
However you look at it there is some serious channeling going on ,
All this needs is probably some thing in the news to drive price either way !

Trading Plan......... ( See Attachment Below )

Gbp/Usd ---
--------------------------------------------------------------------------
This trade has a Risk of about 50 pips

Can You stand to loose 50 pips?
and be able to live another day to trade again ? ....
-This is what the experienced trader is concerned with !

All the so called " Professionals " in here and out there are only concerned
about being right on the call ................................... ...........
Only fools are concerned with being right all the time !

In Fact ,
There are people doing well at this being by right only 50% of the time .

If you want to be successful at this thing called Trading with Elliott Waves
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Forget about Oscillators! - Forget about the News! – Forget about Meetings !
Most Oscillators Lag behind Price and there is too much Pollution in the News .
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Only then will you begin to see a difference in your trading !

Concern yourself with Risk to Reward and what's called Position Sizing
and also learning Sound Money Management Skills ..............

Because in the end it all comes down to your
Averages!

Trading is all about your ability to analyze Risk and Protecting
your Assets
in any individual trade that you decide to take !

This is more important to understand than any trade system or method
that you can think of to applying to the various markets ........

//////////////////////////////////////////////////////////

Elliott Waves is not about who as the right Wave count !
- There is no such thing ………………
There are too many Wave-counts - because We all don’t see the world the same way .

........All we have is Probability !………….

from there its about managing the Risk of the trade if and
when you decide to get into o that specific trade set-up !
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Let us not loose sight of understanding this ........
----------------------------------------------------------------------
We must learn to appreciate all the Wave-counts ...............
So, Don’t get upset and be rude because your Wave-count
or point of views is different than someone else in here .

Learn to Disagree and post your chart to prove your point !
---------------------------------------------------------------------------

-Remember the Lessons of Money Management-
In which will ultimately keep you out of trouble especially when
you are wrong about a particular market turn !…………………
Maximizethose winners and Minimize those losers.

Don't over - extend yourself !........Don't over - leverage yourself !...........

Live to take a loss and still be able to Trade Another Day….

THIS THREAD IS DEDICATED TO THE GBP/USD ...........

------------------------------------------------------------------

The problem is that there are times when other trade set-up
oportunities in the other Major Pairs occur when there is nothing
going on in the cable ....... IT Happens !.......

There are times to simply ....Stay out of Cable !
(Same deal on any other pair that you are thinking of by the way. )

Hi everyone

Look at aussie charts I'm counting like this.
Second pattern is more likely to me.
I believe that we will hit 0,951x area so called SL hunting then bounce to the upside.
If reversal will be strong then we could presume scenario 2 if not i bet on H&S.
Goodluck.

Hi

Usdcad looks very bullish to me. Let's see what might to happen.
I'm just watching 14 ema at 3H tf for now. I will follow the breakout - daily.
