Introduction
At the moment the wave counting doesn’t rule out completion of USD local strengthening in the framework of scenario v.3 and its new fall (refer to The review of the bigger Time-Frames (Annual Wave Analysis, 2008)).
1. EUR/USDFor survey wave counting of EUR refer to Annual-08 and Monthly-0408. Refer to Figure 1 for the wave counting draft of this currency on 480 min chart.
http://www.alpari-forex.com/files/pic/docs/9/30157_8537.gif
Figure 1. Wave counting on 480 min chart. Variant 3.
Supposedly wave (iv) of is almost completed. It is assuming the shape of the horizontal triangle (iv), which is characteristic of the fourth waves of the impulse.
http://www.alpari-forex.com/files/pic/docs/9/30157_8538.gif
Figure 2. Wave counting on 120 min chart. Variant 3.
According to a possible variant of the wave counting triangle (iv) may keep forming.
Note how precisely correlation of waves of the supposed triangle (iv) corresponds to the average data for the contracting triangles (see Tables 4-3, 4-4, 4-5 and 4-6 of my book ; in Table 4-6 in the line «ST» read it as «WaveC-WaveB, WaveE-WaveD»). You should remember that waves a of (iv), c of (iv) and e of (iv) are active, that is trend waves inside the «triangle» pattern, whereas waves b of (iv) and d of (iv) are counteractive, correctional.
2. GBP/USDFor survey wave counting of GBP refer to Annual-08 and Monthly-0408. Refer to Figure 3 for the wave counting draft of this currency on 480 min chart.
http://www.alpari-forex.com/files/pic/docs/9/30157_8539.gif
Figure 3. Wave counting on 480 min chart.
The price has broken the geometry of the supposed horizontal triangle, having left the essence of the extended horizontal correction unchanged (see Tables 3-1 and 3-2 of my book ). In this case wave (iv) of is assuming the shape of the triple three, which may be the last but one wave in the pattern of the higher degree.
If the supposition is true it is most probable that currently wedge is forming. Note that corrections, striving for 78% depth, are characteristic of wedges.

Figure 4. Wave counting on 120 min chart.
According to a possible variant of the wave counting triple three (iv) may keep forming. 3. USD/JPYFor survey wave counting of JPY refer to Annual-08 and Monthly-0408. Refer to Figure 5 for the wave counting draft of this currency on 480 min chart.
http://www.alpari-forex.com/files/pic/docs/9/30157_8541.gif
Figure 5. Wave counting on 480 min chart. Variant 3.
The price has broken the upper border of the trend channel completing forming of the proportional zigzag 4 of (3). It is natural to expect a confirmation of its completion and a downward reversal of the local trend.

Figure 6. Wave counting on 120 min chart. Variant 3.
According to a possible variant of the wave counting zigzag 4 may keep forming.
4. USD/CHFFor survey wave counting of CHF refer to Annual-08 and Monthly-0408. Refer to Figure 7 for the wave counting draft of this currency on 480 min chart.
http://www.alpari-forex.com/files/pic/docs/9/30157_8543.gif
Figure 7. Wave counting on 480 min chart. Variant 3.
Supposedly wave (iv) of is almost completed. It is assuming the shape of the horizontal triangle (iv), which is characteristic of the fourth waves of the impulse.
http://www.alpari-forex.com/files/pic/docs/9/30157_8544.gif
Figure 8. Wave counting on 120 min chart. Variant 3.
According to a possible variant of the wave counting triangle (iv) may keep forming. In this case wave e of (iv) may assume the shape of the triangle or another extended correction completing the supposed horizontal triangle (iv).

Figure 1. Wave counting on 480 min chart. Variant 3.
Supposedly wave (iv) of is almost completed. It is assuming the shape of the skewed triangle (iv), which is characteristic of the fourth waves of the impulse.

Figure 2. Wave counting on 120 min chart. Variant 3.
According to a possible variant of the wave counting supposed triangle (iv) may complete soon and the local trend may reverse upwards.
2. GBP/USDFor survey wave counting of GBP refer to Annual-08 and Monthly-0408. Refer to Figure 3 for the wave counting draft of this currency on 480 min chart.
http://www.alpari-forex.com/files/pic/docs/9/30232_8712.gif
Figure 3. Wave counting on 480 min chart.
Supposedly wave (iv) of is almost completed. It may assume the shape of the ordinary zigzag with the last leg c of (iv) in the shape of the contracting diagonal triangle. In this case it is possible that the wave sequence 1-2, 1-2, rather than a wedge, is forming as it was supposed before. The length of the expected upward impulse will let us specify the current scenario.

Figure 4. Wave counting on 120 min chart.
According to a possible variant of the wave counting supposed zigzag (iv) may complete soon and local trend may reverse upwards.
As the third wave of c of (iv) of the supposed diagonal triangle c of (iv) is shorter than its first wave of c of (iv), we may calculate the critical level for the completion of the supposed zigzag (iv) — 1.9494.
3. USD/JPYFor survey wave counting of JPY refer to Annual-08 and Monthly-0408. Refer to Figure 5 for the wave counting draft of this currency on 480 min chart.

Figure 5. Wave counting on 480 min chart. Variant 3.
The price is above the upper border of the trend channel completing the supposed double zigzag 4 of (3). It is quite natural to expect the confirmation of its completion and a downward reversal of the local trend.

Of course this structure can be interpreted as a diagonal triangle that completes the upward impulse. But in this case the fourth wave proves to be disproportionately short in duration (refer to page 116 of my book) and supposed synchronism of price movement of the currencies under consideration is distorted. These very reasons don’t let me bring the scenario with a diagonal triangle to the forefront.

Introduction
The supposed completion of the correction in the favor of the dollar wasn’t confirmed by price. Thus the expected start of a new stage of the dollar’s weakening is put off until the beginning of the next week (refer to The review of the bigger Time-Frames (II quarter of 2008)).
1. EUR/USDFor survey wave counting of EUR refer to Annual-08 and Monthly-0408. Refer to Figure 1 for the wave counting draft of this currency on 480 min chart.
http://www.alpari-forex.com/files/pic/docs/9/30303_8850.gif
Figure 1. Wave counting on 480 min chart. Variant 3.
The price broke the intermediate critical level thus not having confirmed the completion of corrective wave (iv) of . According to possible variants of the wave counting either wave e of (iv) is assuming the shape of an expanded flat or the high of wave d of (iv) is shifted a little bit to the right.
Of course this structure can be interpreted as a completed diagonal triangle (v) that brings to a close the upward impulse . But in this case the fourth wave (iv) proves to be short in length (refer to page 116 of my book) and supposed synchronism of price movement of currencies under consideration is distorted. These very reasons don’t let me bring the scenario with a diagonal triangle to the forefront (refer to the alternate variant of the counting at the top of the chart).
2. GBP/USDFor survey wave counting of GBP refer to Annual-08 and Monthly-0408. Refer to Figure 2 for the wave counting draft of this currency on 480 min chart.
http://www.alpari-forex.com/files/pic/docs/9/30303_8851.gif
Figure 2. Wave counting on 480 min chart.
Supposedly an upward impulse is developing the length of which will let us specify if an expanding wedge of senior wave level or the wave sequence 1-2, 1-2 is forming (alternate of the top part of the chart).
According to a possible variant of counting at the moment wave ii of (v) which is assuming the shape of a zigzag is completing.
3. USD/JPYFor survey wave counting of JPY refer to Annual-08 and Monthly-0408. Refer to Figure 3 for the wave counting draft of this currency on 480 min chart.
http://www.alpari-forex.com/files/pic/docs/9/30303_8852.gif
Figure 3. Wave counting on 480 min chart. Variant 3.
The updated variant of the counting doesn’t rule out that the double zigzag 4 of (3) is completing. It is quite natural to expect the confirmation of its completion and further development of the downward trend.
4. USD/CHFFor survey wave counting of CHF refer to Annual-08 and Monthly-0408. Refer to Figure 4 for the wave counting draft of this currency on 480 min chart.
http://www.alpari-forex.com/files/pic/docs/9/30303_8853.gif
Figure 4. Wave counting on 480 min chart. Variant 3.
The theme of a zigzag in wave (iv) of and of a horizontal triangle b of (iv) remains. But the updated counting doesn’t rule out that the second leg of zigzag c of (iv) is assuming the shape of an expanding triangle thus confirming guideline of alternation for zigzags (refer to page 140 of my book).

Introduction
The wave counting doesn’t rule out that the dollar will resume its weakening this week (refer to The review of the bigger Time-Frames (II quarter of 2008)). Possibly a new stage of weakening will start after the FOMC's statement on the result of its policy discussions (on April 30, 2008 22:15 Msc).
1. EUR/USDFor survey wave counting of EUR refer to Annual-08 and Monthly-0408. Refer to Figure 1 for the wave counting draft of this currency on 480 min chart.

Figure 1. Wave counting on 480 min chart. Variant 3.
According to possible variants of the wave counting either wave e of (iv) is assuming the shape of an expanded wave flat or the high of wave d of (iv) is shifted a little bit to the right.
Of course this structure can be interpreted as a completed diagonal triangle (v), that brings to a close the upward impulse . But in this case the fourth wave (iv) proves to be disproportionately short in length (refer to page 116 of my book) and the supposed synchronism of price movement of the currencies under consideration is distorted. These very reasons don’t let me bring the scenario with diagonal triangle to the forefront (refer to the alternate variant of the counting at the top of the chart).

Figure 1. Wave counting on 480 min chart. Variant 3.
Supposedly wave (iv) in the shape of a skewed triangle is completing.
2. GBP/USDFor survey wave counting of GBP refer to Annual-08 and Monthly-0408.
http://www.alpari-forex.com/files/pic/docs/9/30351_8945.gif
Figure 2. Wedge?
The price failed to build the yesterday’s upward zigzag up to an impulse or an upward wedge (refer to Figure 4 in Daily-290408). Instead of this it broke the first critical level making me reconsider the current variant of the wave counting.
The wave structure of the last 10 days at a little stretch can be presented in the form of a downward wedge. If this supposition is confirmed the downtrend must resume after a small correction. This scenario may break the current scenario of the price movement of the British pound and undoubtedly must be taken into consideration in trading plans.
But the given variant of the counting of this knot is not the only one.
http://www.alpari-forex.com/files/pic/docs/9/30351_8946.gif
Figure 3. Zigzag?
Almost without any reserve it can be presented in the form of a downward zigzag.
http://www.alpari-forex.com/files/pic/docs/9/30351_8947.gif
Figure 4. Wave counting on 480 min chart.
In this case we may suppose that at the moment wave ii of (v) of is completing, that corresponds to the current scenario with wave 4 in the form of an expanded flat (refer to Figure 5).
The length of wave ii of (v) which is almost twice as long as wave i of (v) is an alerting fact. Such proportion is rather characteristic of a zigzag than of an impulse.
http://www.alpari-forex.com/files/pic/docs/9/30351_8948.gif
Figure 5. Wave counting on the daily chart.
This variant was considered in detail in Monthly-0408.
http://www.alpari-forex.com/files/pic/docs/9/30351_8949.gif
Figure 6. Horizontal triangle?
At the same time such interchange of possible zigzags which decrease in amplitude suggest insistently a variant with a completing large horizontal triangle.
This variant seems to me rather perspective and will be considered in detail in the forecast for May 2008.
3. USD/JPYFor survey wave counting of JPY refer to Annual-08 and Monthly-0408. Refer to Figure 7 for the wave counting draft of this currency on 480 min chart.
http://www.alpari-forex.com/files/pic/docs/9/30351_8950.gif
Figure 7. Wave counting on 480 min chart. Variant 3.
Supposedly the double zigzag 4 of (3) is completed. It is quite natural to expect the confirmation of its completion and further development of the downtrend..
4. USD/CHFFor survey wave counting of CHF refer to Annual-08 and Monthly-0408. Refer to Figure 8 for the wave counting draft of this currency on 480 min chart.
http://www.alpari-forex.com/files/pic/docs/9/30351_8951.gif
Figure 8. Wave counting on 480 min chart. Variant 3.
The theme of a zigzag in wave (iv) of remains. I returned to the preceding counting (refer to Daily-250408), when the second leg of zigzag c of (iv) is assuming the shape of an expanding diagonal triangle confirming thus guideline of alternation for zigzags (refer to page 140 of my book).

Introduction
Yesterday the price marked the point that can prove to be the beginning of a new stage of the dollar’s weakening (refer to The review of the bigger Time-Frames (II quarter of 2008) and Monthly -0508). But this supposition requires its confirmation.
1. EUR/USDFor survey wave counting of EUR refer to Annual-08 and Monthly-0508. Refer to Figure 1 for the wave counting draft of this currency on 480 min chart.

So far the price has only marked the upward movement but if the supposition about the completion of the wave flat (iv) is true it is quite natural to expect further development of the uptrend.

Introduction
Yesterday the price marked the point that can prove to be the beginning of a new stage of the dollar’s weakening (refer to The review of the bigger Time-Frames (II quarter of 2008) and Monthly -0508). But this supposition requires its confirmation.

Changes of the wave counting for the last 10 days let us specify significant levels.
In order that the supposed wedge 1 correspond to the rules of EWA its wave of 1 must touch or cross the confirmatory level 0.9986. At the same time the price mustn’t break the critical level 0.9955 (this is the updated value of the critical level as the ending of wave of 1 was corrected).
Otherwise the stockade of waves that has been forming since the end of March 2008 can be interpreted as the wave sequence 1-2, 1-2 of decreasing wave degrees (refer to the alternate counting at the bottom of the chart).
If the price breaks the upper critical level 1.0324 further forming of the corrective wave (2) should be expected.

Introduction
As it was mentioned in the May forecast : «…the confirmation of the completion of the correction and the beginning of a new stage of the wakening of the US dollar are the expected events in May 2008» (refer to Monthly-0508). At the moment there is no confirmation of the completion of the correction. Supposedly the price is writing up its ending waves.
1. EUR/USDFor survey wave counting of EUR refer to Annual-08 and Monthly-0508. Refer to Figure 1 for the wave counting draft of this currency on 480 min chart.
http://www.alpari-forex.com/files/pic/docs/10/30436_9109.gif
Figure 1. Wave counting on 480 min chart. Variant 3.
Supposedly a double three that can be the entirely wave (iv) of or its part is completing.

Figure 2. Wave counting on 120 min chart. Variant 3.
Local price decline since the second half of April can be interpreted as a simple zigzag with approximately equal legs. In this case guideline of alternation for zigzags is demonstrably shown (refer to page 140 of my book). We only have to wait for the confirmation of its completion.
2. GBP/USDFor survey wave counting of GBP refer to Annual-08 and Monthly-0508. Refer to Figure 3 for the wave counting draft of this currency on the daily chart.

Figure 3. Wave counting on the daily chart.
Let me quote my forecast for May (refer to Monthly-0508):
«Unfortunately so far there is no confirmation of the completion of this triangle. Consequently the price may continue further development of its ending structure and may rewrite the endings of waves , and of 4.»
My fears are confirmed — at the moment the price is rewriting the ending of the wave of the triangle. But no matter which form the supposed triangle will assume after the confirmation of the completion of its wave the dominant price movement will be upward.
Note. Ttruncated triangle — is a form of a horizontal triangle with three and not five main waves or with disproportionately small ending main waves and . We may meet this term in the works by R. Prechter. A famous analyst J.Murphy also wrote about three-wave triangles in the framework of EWA.
3. USD/JPYFor survey wave counting of JPY refer to Annual-08 and Monthly-0508. Refer to Figure 4 for the wave counting draft of this currency on 480 min chart.

Figure 4. Wave counting on 480 min chart. Variant 3.
The double zigzag 4 of (3) may be completed. But so far there is no confirmation of this and the ending of wave 4 can be rewritten.

Figure 5. Wave counting on 120 min chart. Variant 3.
The local price rise since mid-April can be interpreted as a simple zigzag with approximately equal legs. In this case guideline of alternation for zigzags is demonstrably shown (refer to page 140 of my book). We only have to wait for the confirmation of its completion.
4. USD/CHFFor survey wave counting of CHF refer to Annual-08 and Monthly-0508. Refer to Figure 6 for the wave counting draft of this currency on 480 min chart.

Supposedly the zigzag (iv) of is completing.

Figure 7. Wave counting on 120 min chart. Variant 3.
The ending wave of the expanding diagonal triangle c of (iv) can be interpreted as a simple zigzag with approximately equal legs. In this case guideline of alternation for zigzags is demonstrably shown (refer to page 140 of my book). We only have to wait for the confirmation of its completion.
