Missed USD/CHF Short
I must have been watching TV or something lol; almost perfect setup.
The Stochs confirm the downwards trend.
The MACD Starts Adjusting with lower bars.
The OSMA shows the divergence.

GBP/USD Long Term For those of you who prefer to hold your positions for a longer period of time (As i will be doing for trade #11)
We have a monthly Setup Bar available; 1:1 is ~600 PIPs.
If the high of the STB is broken take the signal.
The current Monthly STB high is 1.9954
My TECHNICAL TARGET for trade #11 is 2.0500, which should give us an approximately 60% return; *knocks on wood

USD/CHF USD/CHF has officially broken its channel low.
Wait for H1 retracements and look for short trades only.

GBP/USD Another Long Trade L1 is trade #11, L2 was another trade you could have taken. (While i was killing brain cells at a club...*Sigh).
It was also a good place to add more positions to trade #11.

Hello,
For that trade; the first two candles had an equal high of 212.79 as shown on the chart. The second candle, opened, moved lower, then moved higher.
So, the trade was direct. Not to say that situations like what you've described don't happen though, sure they do, the market is chaotic.
To compensate for this, either you change your polarity or you analyze the market trend carefully before considering to continue taking signals in the same direction as the loss incurred.
Read through this, if you're not sure how to gauge the trend:

GBP/JPY Potential Long Ok. The end of hour volatility around the channel bottom has finished.
Note the setup candle. It has bounced at the top and bounced at the bottom; You don't need to go to a lower time frame to understand that the M5, M10, M15 traders are Ranging right now. We have enough information on H1.
My hope is that the range maintains the Setup Bar's limitations and we get a break at the top (H = 211.78).
If the Setup Bar lows are broken we'll have two possible outcomes;
A: We'll have another knock of the lows, before it reverses high.
B: It knocks of the lows and continues moving down.
In case A, we know what to do.
In case B, we will wait for H1 retracements to get in on a correction and surf the impulsive wave down.

GBP/JPY Potential Long (Continuation) These trades around channel extremities can be a little tricky sometimes.
It is possible that if this trade executes, it doesn't go too far.
Sometimes when the channel is violated, it will retrace back into the range partially giving us a less profitable signal and in some cases a whiplash, before continuing in the direction of the break.
Watch this trade closely and exercise additional vigilance in managing your risk if it is triggered.

GBP/USD Long (Trade #14) Thank you for cooperating John - i've done my part.
--------------------------------------------------
This is a really tough call for me, but i'm gonna make it.
It's not always easy decisions unfortunately...
I will risk half of what i normally do; 1.0% as we're already down -4.0% today.
If this fails we will definitely move up to H4 only for today.
1:1 is ~55 PIPS

Thanks Fsiltd for answering, i like your way too.
Dragosd1, i mostly look back in history for turning points that held before, but the main thing as Effi said its not to look at them as just points or lines, those are areas. I also use a lot of trendlines and i love the pullbacks once they are break, always check for pullback in sup/res areas too.
(i wait for some kind of price action bar or candle formation to trigger the trade at those areas)
i will attach a pic with a few examples, sorry for having so many things on it, if u want to learn some good post about this check James chart thread, i like Seekinglight posts a lot, but are a lot of good examples from great traders there.
Hope it helps
Matty
PS: Please Effi, if u think im out of topic with this, ask me to delete the post and i will do asap. Thanks.Attached Thumbnailshttp://www.forexfactory.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=90739&stc=1&thumb=1&d=1204234085

Did someone noticed this trade S on EJ Daily? I think it was a valid setup.
As a matter of fact I was took it, but just with 0.1 lot. In any case, it was 90% the news that gave him fuel to make this short....

Just Thanks! Hi Effi!
Took this ideal trade based on your rules - divergence indicated change of polarity, then retrace to upper MA and here we are - more than 200 pips profit. Still in, watching for a signs of reversals...
Take care!

After the success of the original indicator, I decided to write more indicators for detecting divergence between price and other indicator.
http://codebase.mql4.com/c/codebase/2007/06/fx5_macddivergence1.gif
This indicator will plot divergence lines on the MACD indicator and will give buy and sell signal by displaying green and red arrows. It also has a built-in alert function. As the original indicator, bullish divergence is plotted in green lines while bearish divergence is plotted in red. If the divergence is classic the line will be solid and if the type is reversed the line will be interrupted.
http://codebase.mql4.com/c/codebase/2007/06/fx5_macddivergence2.gif
I hope you gets the most benedfit from this indicator.
Changes to verion 1.1:
- This version is directed to traders who do not want repainted singals. The signals are not repainted buy they are delayed one candle.

Divergence is a powerful tool for detecting price reversal points from support and resistance zones. It usually gives us a relatively early signals compared to those given by moving average indicators. It can be successfully applied to many technical indicators and end up with good results.
This indicator will plot divergence lines between the price and OsMA indicator. It will give buy/sell signal according to the type of divergence that was detected. The indicator also is capable of drawing divergence lines for the whole history prices located within a specific chart.
http://codebase.mql4.com/c/codebase/2007/03/div1.gif
Bullish divergence will be plotted with green lines on both price and OsMA idicator windows.
http://codebase.mql4.com/c/codebase/2007/03/div2.gif
Bearish divergence will be plotted with red lines on both price and OsMA idicator windows.
I hope this indicator prove to be a useful tool.
Changes to Version 1.5:
[*]A bug was fixed in updating divergence lines as the live quotes flow;[*]A sound Alert feature was added to the indicator and can be enabled or disabled from indicator settings;[*]Classical divergence is plotted in Solid Style (continues) lines, while hidden divergence is plotted in Dot Style (interuppted) lines.
Changes to version 2.0:
[*]The code was rebuilt from scratch to make the indicator runs much faster.[*]The indicator now doesn't repaint any of its signals.[*]Some improvements in the signal identification algorithms.Version 2.1:
[*]I attached the last file by mistake. This is the one I wanted to attach. It is the last version. I am designating it version 2.1.
