BIOGRAPHY
Since 1987, when Brian Bloom became involved in the Venture Capital Industry, he has been constantly on the lookout for alternative energy technologies to replace fossil fuels. He has recently completed the manuscript of a novel entitled Beyond Neanderthal which he is targeting to publish within six to nine months.
The novel has been drafted on three levels: As a vehicle for communication it tells the light hearted, romantic story of four heroes in search of alternative energy technologies which can fully replace Neanderthal Fire. On that level, its storyline and language have been crafted to be understood and enjoyed by everyone with a high school education. The second level of the novel explores the intricacies of the processes involved and stimulates thinking about their development. None of the three new energy technologies which it introduces is yet on commercial radar. Gold, the element, (Au) will power one of them. On the third level, it examines why these technologies have not yet been commercialised. The answer: We've got our priorities wrong.
Beyond Neanderthal is a novel with a light hearted and entertaining fictional storyline; and with carefully researched, fact based themes. In Chapter 1 (written over a year ago) the current financial turmoil is anticipated. The rest of the 430 page novel focuses on the probable causes of this turmoil and what we might do to dig ourselves out of the quagmire we now find ourselves in. The core issue is “energy”, and the story leads the reader step-by-step on one possible path which might point a way forward.  Gold plays a pivotal role in our future – not as a currency, but as a commodity with unique physical characteristics that can be harnessed to humanity’s benefit. Until the current market collapse, there would have been many who questioned the validity of the arguments in Beyond Neanderthal. Now the evidence is too stark to ignore.  This is a book that needs to be read by large numbers of people to make a difference. It can be ordered over the internet via www.beyondneanderthal.com

BIOGRAPHY
Frank Barbera, CMT is currently the editor of the Gold Stock Technician (GST) Newsletter which originally entered publication in 1993. As editor of the GST Letter, Mr. Barbera employs a technical indicators to bring market timing to bear on the highly volatile gold stocks. Included in last year's widely popular book, Master Traders: Strategies for Superior Returns from Today’s Top Traders, the tools employed by The Gold Stock Technician have been tested going back many years. In addition to writing the Gold Stock Technician Newsletter, Mr. Barbera has also managed private equity capital for a number of years, most notably for the Los Angeles-based Caruso Fund where we earned in excess of 25% to 30% returns during the last bear market. In his role as a hedge fund manager, Frank sought to regularly trade precious metals, energy, currencies along with the broad stock market indices. Frank began his career in the early 1980s working with Financial News Network in Los Angeles and later, as the ‘on air’ analyst for KWHY TV. Frank's technical work on Gold and Gold Stocks is considered among the best in the industry and he has spoken at a number of investment conferences and been quoted widely in the Financial Press. Readers interested in subscribing to The Gold Stock Technician can contact Mr. Barbera via email.
The Gold Stock Technician newsletter covers Gold and Gold Stocks along with Precious Metals and other global markets. The letter operates on a “flexible” publishing schedule, which means we write when we believe we have the most to say, but is invariably a ‘weekly letter’ that normally comes out on Monday or Tuesday nights. A one-year subscription includes special flash updates that are issued when markets are moving rapidly and/or whenever there are particular buy or sell points on individual securities.

The Gold Stock Technician newsletter seeks to reduce the volatility inherent in owning high beta mining stocks by using market timing to avoid the bulk of extended market declines. We track several real money portfolios of our mining stock picks in order to help the individual investor get solid ideas on which companies will perform the best. We also issue regular advice on Gold ETFs including the GLD and GDX for those investors who like the index qualities found in exchange traded funds. The regular price for GST is $340 per year with checks or US Dollar money orders made out to The Gold Stock Technician.

BIOGRAPHY
Ron Griess is the proprietor of The Chart Store. Ron is an investment professional with over 30 years experience who has always found charts beneficial to the investment research and decision-making process. His love of data gathering and drawing charts has resulted in The Chart Store web site.
The purpose of The Chart Store is to bring high quality, thought provoking and affordable charts to a wide audience. Whether you are an institutional investor, retail investor, an educator, a student, a newsletter writer or someone who just likes looking at charts, Ron feels that graphical depiction of data sometimes tells a story the underlying data conceal or make difficult to understand.
Ron Griess' goal at The Chart Store is to draw charts that do tell a story or make the underlying data easier to understand. The Chart Store has over 4,000 charts available for downloading in the popular .pdf format.
As the saying goes, a picture tells a thousand words. Ron has a unique approach to finding the "news in the numbers." We hope you do too. ~ FSO
