------以狙击手的素质生存于期货市场
期货市场如战场，战场上狙击手凭着冷静、睿智、果断的决策，专业的攻防战术，准确的射杀敌方阵地上的单个目标或重要人物。狙击手不仅具有神奇的枪法，而且具备超常的感觉，果断和耐心，如同武侠小说里的冷面杀手。使对手无法搞清他的存在，却时刻能感觉威胁的存在。同时狙击手还帮助指挥员制定重要的进攻和撤退路线，在战争中起着举足轻重的作用，能成为一名狙击手是很多战士的追求。
我在部队服役期间，由于平时的“勤学苦练”在实弹射击的考核中，成绩在中队里名列前茅。于是，有幸参加了“优秀射手”的选拔赛，目标很明确，在53个优秀的射手当中，选出10人参加总队组织的“狙击手”短期培训。这样不但可以更好的学习到专业射击技巧，对自己的提高也很快。比赛的内容很简单，在100米处，倒扣6个塑料水桶，每个水桶的底面放一个玻璃杯，每人6发子弹，在5分钟的时间内，用跪射打掉6个玻璃杯。很多人都是老兵，经验丰富。在我之前已经有几个人把玻璃杯全部打掉了，当时自己的心理压力很大。紧张的手心里全是汗水。一方面做为一个新兵自己的成绩好坏不是代表个人，而是代表自己的中队。另一方面使用的88式狙击步枪和平时自己使用的步枪手感不一样，有点轻。最主要的一点是每只枪的弹着点都不一样,有的偏左上,有的偏右上,或右下.对于一只新枪最好先试射一下,根据弹着点的位置调整准星的角度.在这种情况下对第一发子弹的准确性心里确实没底.就意味着只给我5颗子弹的准确性机会.,知己知彼才能百站百胜,在比赛前考虑的周密一些获胜的把握就大一些.平时我们练习卧姿射击比较多，跪姿射击要求稳定性更高，难度更大。此时要想准确的全部击中目标只能沉着再沉着,冷静在冷静!
在击发的瞬间始终盯着目标，不能眨眼，胳膊和身子更不能乱动，此时人与枪紧密结合在一起,人要象深深扎进黑土里的青松,枪要象青松上伸展的枝杈.按照平时训练的动作，举枪、瞄准、狙枪、贴腮，抠动扳机。6声枪响，6个玻璃杯全部被打掉，我心里的一块石头算是落了地。
武警部队的狙击手培训课程和野战部队的狙击手培训内容略有差别，但不是很大。近几年武警部队的培训课程主要以反恐为主，更侧重解救人质，楼道、巷站为主……我们当年对这方面的训练少一些。
但是“一弹一命”的狙击精神都是一样的。当时我们就信奉“拉的出，打的赢！实现军人的最大价值”这句话。
虽然最后没有成为一名“真正的专业狙击手”但是学到的狙击知识，后来用到期货市场上却是非常的有效。每一次的行动都要经过精心的策划与组织，并不是主观的盲动。在期货市场上大部分投资者大部分时间在进行没有计划的操作。
我主要说一下150米的潜伏射击，他对我们做期货帮助很大。投资者理解了其中的意义，对自己的操作肯定是一个很大的进步。150米潜伏射击，根据周围战场地貌，把枪身和自己的脸上手上涂上色彩，披上伪装服，进行潜伏伪装。在敌人出现的瞬间把敌人消灭掉，潜伏射击最练人的性子，更培养人的毅力。冬天要忍受寒冷的袭击。夏天要忍受酷热和蚊虫的叮咬。“等枪”就是与对手比耐心，一位优秀的狙击手不仅要求具有优良的射击技术，而必须拥有“超众”的心理素质，敌人不出来就要耐心的等下去。一个小时不出来就等2个小时，一天不出来就等2天。有时等待一个目标的出现要等上几天几夜。时刻还要保持最佳的状态。只要机会出现，哪怕其瞬间即逝，也要紧紧的抓住。在投资的过程中很多投资者的内心太浮躁，不愿意等待捕捉最佳的进出场信号，盲目的操作，最后使自己的帐户亏损。在期货实盘操作中，振亿期货战法即使是日内短线有些信号也是需要等待的，只有等待，才能在多空临界点处,在行情启动初期抓住行情，做到一击而中,弹无虚发赚取稳定的收益。

What to do about Nucor

Nucor Corporation and its subsidiaries engage in the manufacture and sale of steel and steel products in North America. NUE is a tough stock to analyze in my opinion. It is in one of the leading industries in a horrible market, i.e. steel, yet its broken its longer term uptrend. The company recently announced another common stock offering for $74/share which may have contributed to recent action and high volume trading. Trading purely on technicals, I would say stay away. Then again this could be a decent pullback in a leading stock. Nothing is absolute, so I think if NUE goes 5-10% lower, I think I would dip my toe in the water and see what shakes out. What are your thoughts on NUE?

Shortcake ?

Well, how about shorting cheesecake factory, symbol : CAKE. The stock has been weakeaned by the overall economic downturn. Less people going out to eat due to higher gas prices and those chosing to dine out not going upscale restaurants is presumably the theory. Technically, the stock looks like its going lower. It recently gapped down on relatively high volume. The ADX which measures the strength of a trend is very strong. MACD trending downward. Overall, I think shorting CAKE may be a decent trade in the coming weeks. Here is the six month charts:

I am going on record and buying a bunch of X puts. I think todays run up to $173 is it for a while. I have been having bad luck on the downside of some stocks (VISA) so i wont be surprised if this bites me in the rear. I will post some charts later in the week that have been going well for me.

Why it’s NOT time to Short Apple and Visa

I could not help but read the comments on Brett’s call for shorting Visa and the other conversations around shorting Apple. I have to disagree with both calls. Visa is not a short because everyone thinks its going to be the next Mastercard. Visa actually makes more money than Mastercard. I’m wondering what the catalyst would be for Visa to drop? I really don’t see any. They reporting GOOD, not great numbers but the bottom line is that you really can’t fight the tape and expect to win. I would BUY visa on a pullback. The stock is may reach $100 in 6 months.
Shorting Apple now may make a little more sense given the move from 120 to where we are today, but I still contend that that is risky as well. I think the stock will ramp to $200 until the 3G iPhone release and maybe pause there. Fundamentally, how could you justify shorting apple now anyhow? The company is minting money and hoarding crazy amounts of cash. They have the best tech CEO in the Biz in Steve Jobs and everyone knows its a matter of time before the iPhone becomes the 800 pound gorilla in the cellular business. Their PC business is taking share from other competitors at an accelerating rate. I just do not get the short call on Apple, especially not the long-term.

Follow Up on WLT

Last week I mentioned Walters industries.  The stock was in the low 70’s/high 60’s at that time. Today, the stock broke out on huge volume of over 5 Million shares.  WLT closed out at 81.58 up 8.65 on the day.  The stock has been on fire for the past year.  I’m not one to chase a breakout but I think this might be an exception.
Other stocks that look ready to run higher:
United States Steel (X) - New 52 week high today.  Volume however was unimpressive.
Potash ( POT) - Stock resuming uptrend after very brief pause.
Intrepid Potash (IPI) - I took small position today.  I think it moves much higher.  Could be similar to Visa in terms of IPO’s on the mover.
Google (GOOG) - Money managers are coming back into GOOG after blowout quarter.  One year from now GOOG could be making new highs again.  I think anyone who bought GOOG before the last earnings and the subsequent 90 point day may a great decision.  This was a classic risk/reward situation where the risk was certainly worth it.  I don’t think it too late to own the stock.

JPM

JPM is my favorite financial bar none. I’ve liked the stock for several months now, but I took a small position recently. I like it as a long-term investment. They have the best CEO in the business in Jamie Dimon. They basically stole Bear Stearns. Think about it: they didn’t even flinch when they paid 5X their original purchase offer for Bear Stearns. The deal is going to add serious earnings power to JPM. They also have the least amont of exposure to the subprime mess. I think this stock can trade in the $60’s next year. Here is the chart:

USO Stock Chart (Short Oil?? Call me crazy)

As we all know, oil has been on a monster run. Looking at this chart, I see a great opportunity to make money on a short position once this stock reaches $100. According to the chart, if this stock reaches $100, we should see a correction worth a few points or so. I really hope it gets to $100 because I am going to buy alot of puts and try to cash in. So call me crazy, but this stock is about to be shorted!

Throwing out the Chart on AMZN

I like AMZN at these levels. I think the stock got sold off after earnings that were really good. I like the AMZN play going into the second half of the year. With gas prices expected to reach $4-$5/gallon, I think a lot more people will think twice about going to the malls 10 times or more during the holiday season. I think AMZN benefits from this. AMZN is still growing and is a profitable company. Higher gas prices I think is another reason why AMZN looks good here going into the second half of the year.

Per Yahoo: Walter Industries, Inc., together with its subsidiaries, provides a line of products and services, including coal and natural gas, furnace and foundry coke, slag fiber, mortgage financing, and home construction worldwide. They announce earnings on May 1. This stock chart is unbelivable for this market. It has been in an uptrend for awhile. I keep waiting for a decent pullback but its not happening. Yeah, I said it. DHI reports earnings on May 6. They will probably be dismal. Technically, the stock doesn’t look bad. The stock may have bottomed and is now forming an ascending triangle. Supposedly, DHI is a well managed home builder who has the financial strength to manage thru the depression in the housing market. Anyhow, this stock may need to be watched over the next few weeks. EMC

The beaten-down-tech-stocks-that-might-be-recovering theme continues with EMC. The stock has been halved recently. Yes, they are subject to a slowing economy but that isn’t going to last forever. I think the stock is attractive at these levels. The company is a leader in its field and continues to make money. It also holds a large portion of VMW, a former tech IPO darling who has also gotten crushed recently. The chart looks like EMC will move higher.

Broadcom

BRCD is a long time tech company that has recently gotten crushed, plain and simple. The stock was riding high last year when it reported poor numbers and then it was game over. Well, looks like Broadcom isn’t dead yet. The stock has broken out of a 6 month downtrend. The uptrend is strong based upon the ADX reading of 31. BRCM has had an orderly recovery over the last month. I have no price target on the stock and have not researched earnings releases, etc. but in terms of the trend, I don’t think it going back to the previous March lows. I think BRCM is a good risk on a pullback.

Yahoo Profile of CVD: Covance, Inc., a drug development services company, provides early-stage and late-stage product development services primarily to the pharmaceutical, biotechnology, and medical device industries worldwide. This stock has been a big winner in the biotech area. Cramer gave it a buy signal several months ago before the market correction. Technically the stock may be at a crossroads. It has challenged the 200 day MA a couple of times now. The stock I think will remain around current levels until quarterly earnings release on April 28. I’m not sure if I would take a position prior to earnings but I think the report will give a hint as to whether the stock totally breaks its uptrend or we are just in a correction and the stock moves higher from here. RIMM

RIMM is a stock most people know. They make the Blackberry devices that so many business types carry around. The stock was a stellar performer in 2007 however experienced a substantial correction this year in sympathy with the entire market. Looks like RIMM may stake claim along with Apple and Google as the resilient tech leaders on the Nasdaq later this year. The stock has no exposure to the subprime meltdown and recently reported a solid quarter. The stock has formed a base and is challenging its old highs. I think RIMM is worth watching.

This chart looks fairly decent. After almost a year we are testing a new high. The chart is telling me that we are going higher. We may retrace down to $80 before heading back up. I am taking a small position now and reloading if we get to $80

Turning $5,000 into $400,000..UNREAL

I was contemplating it all day. To take options in Goog or not prior to earnings. I ended up playing the safe side and taking no risk at all. I am kicking myself now. If you were on margin with $5,000, you would have $10,000 in buying power. If you would have thrown it all into Goog April 500 call options it would have turned into almost half a million!
These plays happen a few times a year. The last time I actually did get into it but sold early and missed out on several tens of thousands of dollars. It was the day where bidu gapped up and fell about 60pts. I had bought 15 puts when the stock gapped up and sold way to early. I will never forget that day.
If anyone has been very efficient with buying or selling calls or puts leave some comments because Im always looking for new strategy’s.

Resistance Broken!

Today was a good day in the market. As you can see from the chart, we finally broke a 4 month resistance. We have been having higher lows as well. This is a great thing today and hopefully we will continue the move up. Congrats to all who got into MELI. Up about 7pts from the post.

News of additional economic stimulus efforts in China have boosted interest in industrial machinery companies like Caterpillar (CAT | Quote | Chart | News | PowerRating) which soared by more than 14% on Wednesday.
The prospect of renewed economic activity in China has also been credited for the bounce in copper prices. And higher copper prices are a good thing for miners like Freeport-McMoran Copper & Gold (FCX | Quote | Chart | News | PowerRating). FCX gained more than 13%.
Blockbuster (BBI | Quote | Chart | News | PowerRating) is expected to report quarterly earnings Thursday morning before the bell. Analysts are expecting EPS of 25 cents.
Also reporting earnings before the market opens on Thursday are Urban Outfitters (URBN | Quote | Chart | News | PowerRating), which is expected to announce per share earnings of 28 cents.
Analysts are expecting Marvell Technology Group (MRVL | Quote | Chart | News | PowerRating) to report EPS of 0.01 Thursday before the market opens.
Shares of US Bancorp (USB | Quote | Chart | News | PowerRating) slid by more than 9% on Wednesday as the company announced that it was cutting its dividend by more than 85%.

Chart Patterns

At the end of the day, the only thing that matters in the stock market is supply and demand. When there are more buyers than sellers, stocks go up. More sellers than buyers, stocks go down. A chart is simply a graphical representation of supply and demand. Any news or information that is important or relevant will show up in the chart. It is a totally unbiased, unemotional, direct representation of everything going on in the stock. History has shown that stocks often form patterns, and when these patterns are broken, price movements can be predicted with a high degree of accuracy. Here we discuss numerous popular chart patterns used by successful traders.

Symmetrical Triangles

Bullish symmetrical triangles represent neutral periods of doubt and indecision. They are characterized by a series of higher lows and lower highs as the forces of supply and demand are nearly equal.Each rally is seen as a selling opportunity while each dip is met with buying. The pattern is typically large and takes several months or more than a year to form.

The best breakouts occur ½ to ¾ of the way through the pattern. A stock seems to gain energy as it is compressed into the triangle, but that energy dissipates beyond the ¾ point. It is recommended that traders abandon a stock that trades beyond the ¾ mark for very little movement is likely to occur. Volume typically diminishes as the pattern develops because traders become more and more unsure as to the stock's future direction. Then, seemingly without warning, the stock explodes out of the pattern.
Bullish symmetrical triangles appear in uptrends and typically resolve themselves to the upside. Breakouts to the upside must be accompanied by a significant increase in volume to confirm the breakout. Failure to accomplish this doesn't automatically render the play invalid, but it does raise a yellow flag. Besides volume, the astute trader ought to look for a close above the most recent high. This price represents the previous area of selling pressure and an area where stockholders may be looking to “get out even.” It is recommended that if volume does not accompany the break, and if the stock fails to make a higher high within a reasonable amount of time, the trader should move a sell stop up to protect profits.
The expected price movement upon breakout is approximately equal to the widest part of the pattern.

TEO formed a typically symmetrical triangle in an uptrend in the late winter months of '03. After steadily rallying on solid volume (notice the black volume bars are generally bigger than the red ones) the stock made a lower high and a couple higher lows as the stock was compressed by converging trendlines. Volume then surged on the mid-April breakout. Notice the widest part of the pattern (approx. 1.75 points) accurately predicted the move from 4.25 up to 6.0. Textbook play.

TRPS traded into a symmetrical triangle and broke out on massive volume. Notice the move from 10 to 20 into the pattern was pretty good at forecasting the move from 20 to 30 upon breakout.

BDY formed a solid symmetrical triangle pattern in the fall of '01 and provided a great move to the upside when the stock broke out. Notice the volume; it was huge on the rally into the pattern, and than it significantly fell off within the pattern.That's exactly what you want to see. Then volume surged again on the breakout. Textbook scenario.

Technical Analysis

Technical analysis is a broad name given to the study of a company via its trading activity (versus fundamental analysis, which studies the balance sheet etc.) of a company. Over the years, mathematicians and traders have used the pricing activity of stocks to derive formulas that assist in determining the underlying intentions of the trading/investing participants. Here we discuss numerous popular technical indicators successful traders use in conjunction with chart patterns and candlestick patterns.

Advance/Decline Line

The Advance/Decline Line (A/D Line) is a widely followed “breadth” indicator used to measure the market's internal strength. It is the cumulative total of the difference between the number of NYSE issues that are advancing versus those declining. When the A/D Line is moving up the market is said to have good breadth while a downward sloping line indicates internal weakness.
The A/D Line can be used to confirm the movement in the overall market or to hint at a possible reversal. If both the market and the A/D line are moving up, one can expect the market strength to continue. But if the market moves up while the A/D starts to flatten out and then move down, it hints at internal weakness, and the overall market is very likely to pull back.
On the downside, if both the market and the A/D Line are moving down, one can expect the market weakness to continue. But if the market moves down while the A/D Line starts to flatten out and then move up, internally the market is gaining some strength and the indexes will likely bottom and reverse course.

The A/D Line is a long term indicator. The next two chart show an example of a positive divergence that formed between the NYSE and the NYSE A/D Line. While the market was making a series of lower highs during the last half of 2002 and beginning months of 2003, the A/D Line had bottomed and started turning. Strength was building, and the NYSE rally was not far off.

The next two chart show the opposite situation. While the market was steadyily moving up, the A/D Line was making lower highs. Something had to give. Either the market was going to pull back or the A/D Line was going to start moving up. In this case the A/D Line broke support and the NYSE wasn't far behind.
