Hi Seesound, I didn't notice. Maybe we'd better forget CQG---their demo account expiring date might becontroled in their boss's hand, he records every demo account in his mind, and hold a remote controler, pushes the bottom whenever there's one expired, he doesn't release the remote even when he is sleeping.:*31*: hehe. My sole purpose is to extract the historical intraday data for US futures for backtesting pupose. The price of the historical intraday data is extremely high beyond my imagination. By the way, do you have any idea of getting the data of good quality with relatively low price? Now you should see the advantage of trading forex:) If I have that resource, I would have discarded Alpari already.

做美股和etf不可以用保证金，如果你的“保证金”的意思是“杠杆”的话。
美国的etf在交易上与STOCK没有任何区别，搞得很神秘是中国的ETF，恶心！
交易指数方法还有“指数选择权”，那样的话，其“杠杆”作用就非常大了。
cfd就是指数跟踪交易，详细情况我不太知道。

Just throw in my two cents on CFD.
There are mainly two types of CFD vendors, one is market maker which you will trade against with, so you will pay not only the commission, but also the spread between bid and offer; another is straight through to the stock exchange as normal stocks trading, but higher commissions have to be paid.
A report claims that CFD is now 37% of the total trading volumen in UK, a massive increase from virtually nothing a few years ago. Australia and NEW Zealand are also booming in CFD trading. US doesn't seem to have CFD at the moment. Originally posted by amkr1015 at 2005-6-9 08:32

Thanks for your information, Stanwell. It seems there are cfds on US markets stocks and index funds. It might be a good speculation vehicle for small traders. If I want to trade index with margin but not index future, any good recommendation? Originally posted by seesound at 2005-6-11 00:52

开户只要$2000就够了，建议你先就用这点打打地道战，熟悉熟悉，目标是$4以下$1以上的个股100一个，按信号弹指示分仓密集操作。

CFD seems something like spot forex trading with margin. But this time the underlying asset is stock and index. Is this analogy right?
